WORKSAFEBC'S CONSULTANTS

WORKSAFEBC’s Critical Incident Response (CIR)

Work place injuries have repercussions that reach beyond those directly involved. Often times, witnessing coworkers are affected, not physically, but psychologically by such traumatic events.

The WorkSafeBC has introduced the Critical Incident Response (CIR) program to deal with such cases. Within 12-72 hours of program staff being notified of a critical incident, a mental health provider trained in critical incident response is contracted to provide assistance to the affected workers and employers.

Participation is voluntary and confidential, and may involve groups or individuals.
To report an incident and have a mental health provider sent to your workplace, call Dawna Huff at 1.888.922.3700 (toll free in BC). The line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Calls made between 9 am and 11 pm will be returned immediately.

References should be contacted prior to engagement. Shape is not a party to your engagement of one of these consultants.
