General Promotion
SHAPE participates in industry trade shows and conferences and speaks to groups about industry related safety issues. Please contact Dawn Brennan if you would like to have SHAPE representatives at your event.

Newsletters
SHAPE produces 9 newsletters per year and feature issues of current interest. All past issues may be found on our website as well as mailed out. If you have any suggestions for stories or topics that you would like to see covered in the newsletter, please email Ed Brisson.

Website
SHAPE’s website continues to be very successful and is updated on a regular basis. Included is the BC version of the US motion picture studio safety bulletins.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT/PUBLICATIONS

Stunt Safety
SHAPE has been working with BC’s stunt workers on issues related to fall protection and stunt safety.

SHAPE forms
SHAPE offers a wide variety of OHS forms on our website including risk assessments and health & safety plans.

Posters
SHAPE produces industry specific posters addressing OHS issues. Available posters posters include emergency procedures, WHMIS, Fall Protection, ladder safety, hearing conservation and safety in the sun. Check the poster section of this website to have free posters shipped to you.

Artist Health Resources
Available in our on-line library are downloadable publications for dancers and musicians including Good Nutrition, MSI Symptoms and Prevention and Hearing Conservation.

INDUSTRY AND WORKSITE SERVICES

Safety Passport
The SHAPE SAFETY PASSPORT is a tool used by employers to verify certifications and identify workers who have the training they may be looking for. Workers use the electronic passport system to track their industry related training and identify their skills while keeping their skills up to date.

Hearing Testing
SHAPE provides free hearing tests for workers considered at risk of hearing loss. This project includes counseling and proper use of hearing protection. SHAPE maintains a database of worker tests including statistics that assist us in developing hearing conservation projects.

Reliable Mobile Hearing (604.596.8414) is SHAPE's hearing test provider.

Respirator Fit Testing
SHAPE staff are trained in the current CSA standard for fit testing. SHAPE provides this free service to the industry and maintains a database of all worker fit tests.

OUTREACH

SHAPE will continue to offer the services of our OHS professional, Marty Clausen, to assist productions in identifying and resolving OHS issues as well as compliance with WorkSafeBC regulation as well as other authorities having jurisdiction (NRC, Transport Canada, Fire Marshall).
